Dusan Tadic absolutely lost his head and squared up to teammate Sergino Dest during Ajax's league game against Heerenveen on Saturday.
The Ajax captain and the 19-year-old defender were embroiled in an explosive altercation moments before half-time.
The Serbian winger had a go at the American international then marched over before squaring up to him in a fiery on field incident.
The pair later had a more friendly conversation as they went into the dressing room.
The bust-up between Tadic and Dest got fans talking on social media.
One wrote: "Tadic has every right to let Dest know his place. Dest doesn't do shit and tadic is quite decent this game. Dest should listen. Tadic well done."
A second tweeted: "This is just leadership. If the captain cannot but a young, inexperienced player in his place then there is no point having a captain."
A third added: "A captain shouldn't act like that with a youngster."
