It will be 10 years to the day that Everton last beat Liverpool when the teams line up at Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby on Saturday.
How times have changed. FSG had just taken over the Reds, Roy Hodgson was a few months into his calamitous reign and the Toffees gleefully chanted that their neighbours would be relegated.
Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta struck for David Moyes' men - but that 2-0 win was the last time Everton beat Liverpool and the Premier League champions have had the bragging rights over their rivals for a decade.
Saturday's early kick-off is perhaps the best chance Everton have had since that afternoon in 2010. Jurgen Klopp has been quick to praise his Merseyside rivals ahead of the game, who are flying high at the top of the league, unbeaten and bolstered by genuine quality in the team.
They'll be looking to emulate Moyes's side this weekend, while the trip down memory lane might bring back nightmares for Liverpool fans.
Here's a look at where the starting sides ended up and what they're doing now...
EVERTON
Tim Howard - The American was a mainstay in goal for the Toffees for 10 years and called time on his career after joining the Colorado Rapids in the MLS. Despite retiring last year, he returned with USL team Memphis 901, a side he is a minority owner of and works as sporting director for.
Leighton Baines - It is hardly a surprise that the club legend has returned to work for Everton after retiring in July this year. The 35-year-old was made development coach and his role is to help youngsters in the upper echelons of the academy in their professional development.
Phil Jagielka - The centre back is still a Premier League player aged 38. He returned to boyhood side Sheffield United after they were promoted back to the top flight but struggles for game time in Chris Wilder's team. He has only made one appearance so far this season and it looks like this will be his curtain call.
Sylvain Distin - The Frenchman played 210 games for Everton and established himself as a firm favourite among fans. He played one season for Bournemouth before retiring. Distin was famed for his fitness as a player so it comes as no surprise that he now works as a strength and conditioning coach.
Phil Neville - The former club captain spent eight seasons at Goodison before earning his coaching stripes as assistant under Moyes before the fateful, and short-lived, spell under brother Gary in Valencia. Neville then took charge of the England Women's side and led them to the World Cup semi-finals in 2019 but is stepping down from the role with Sarina Wiegman taking over.
Seamus Coleman - No other player from the team that beat Liverpool a decade ago is still playing except for the Irishman. The 32-year-old still has plenty left in the tank and is one of the experienced heads in Carlo Ancelotti's side. His derby-day experience will be a big plus for Everton this weekend.
John Heitinga - The defensive midfielder retired back in 2016 at Ajax having joined Fulham as a free agent before moving to Hertha Berlin and then the Dutch giants. He now works in the famed Ajax academy as Under-18s coach and is cutting his teeth as a coach.
Mikel Arteta - The most successful member of the Everton 2010 alumni is undoubtedly Arteta. Having left Everton in 2011 to join Arsenal, he played for five more seasons before moving into coaching. He excelled as Pep Guardiola's deputy at Manchester City before taking the helm at the Emirates, where he is already impressing having won last season's FA Cup.
Tim Cahill - One of the best headers of the ball in Premier League history, the Australian established himself at Everton before moving to New York Red Bulls, Shanghai Shenhua, Hangzhou Greentown, Melbourne City, Millwall and Jamshedpur. The well-travelled midfielder is regularly seen on television or heard on radio as a pundit but also works with academy players at Everton.
Leon Osman - Another Everton old boy to swap the boots for the microphone, Osman has worked for BBC, Sky Sports and Premier League Productions. He was a one-club man for 14 years (with two loan stints at Derby and Carlisle) and retired a Toffee.
Yakubu - The 35-year-old retired three years ago having led the line at Everton for four seasons before jumping ship to Leicester and then Blackburn. He joined Chinese side Guangzhou R & F, Al-Rayyan in Qatar, Reading, Kayserispor and finally Coventry City. He has a number of different business interests to keep him busy.
Honourable mentions:
Tony Hibbert: Hibbert came off the bench during the derby win and remained an important part of Moyes' wider squad. That said, there was a disgraceful end to Hibbert's 18-year career at Everton as he found out he was being released on the club's website. He will be remembered as a great servant over almost two decades by fans and has one of the more quirky, life-after-football updates. He now runs a carp fishery in Northern France visited by keen fisherman from across the globe.
LIVERPOOL
Pepe Reina - The Spaniard remained No 1 at Liverpool until Simon Mignolet was brought in. Reina then moved to Napoli on loan before a short stint at Bayern Munich and then Napoli once again. Two years ago he joined AC Milan before signing for Aston Villa last term. The 38-year-old is still going having joined Lazio in the summer.
Paul Konchesky - Hodgson brought in the defender from former side Fulham for £3.8million in 2010 but he was loaned out by the next transfer window before signing for Leicester in the summer of 2011. Konchesky owns a pie and mash cafe called Konch's Kafe and it is run by his mother, who is a chef. He is also a fitness fanatic and regularly posts his runs and times on social media.
Sotirios Kyrgiakos - The 2010 season was the Greek's last at Liverpool for Kyrgiakos. He retired in 2014 after short spells at Sunderland and Sydney Olympic before calling it a day. The Greek centre back with flowing hair appears to relish travelling and fills his Instagram feed with picturesque landscapes.
Jamie Carragher - The one-club man called time on his career seven years ago after 737 games for Liverpool over 16 years. He is now highly regarded as one of the best pundits in the country on television and has developed into a top analyst/sparring partner of Gary Neville on Sky Sports.
Martin Skrtel - The uncompromising Slovakian joined Fenerbahce four years ago before signing for Atalanta. Remarkably, he only lasted three weeks with the Italian side before leaving to join Istanbul Basaksehir where the 35-year-old still plays.
Raul Meireles - With his tattoos and flamboyant hairstyles, it is perhaps no surprise to see the Portuguese extrovert continued to be himself. Last year he was a contestant on a lip sync show in his homeland, strutting his stuff on stage wrapped in what appeared to be bandages. He would have been fondly remembered at Anfield after picking up the PFA Fans' Player of the Year in 2010 but then he handed in a transfer request to join Chelsea. He retired in 2016 after four years at the club.
Steven Gerrard - The iconic Liverpool midfielder's managerial career is still in its infancy at Rangers, where he is attempting to wrestle dominance back from Celtic. There's no doubt his long-term ambition is to manage Liverpool. He moved to LA Galaxy from the Reds and then retired in 2016, working with the Liverpool Under-18s before taking the Rangers job two years ago.
Joe Cole - Cole made 32 appearances in the same season as the Merseyside derby defeat. He was then loaned out to Lille and subsequently joined West Ham on a free transfer. Spells at Aston Villa, Coventry City and the Tampa Bay Rowdies followed and since his retirement in 2016, the former England international has tried his hand at punditry
Maxi Rodriguez - Still just about going strong, the 39-year-old Argentine is back in his homeland with Newell's Old Boys. He spent five seasons there after leaving Liverpool in 2012, one at Penarol, before returning to Newell's to see out his career.
Lucas - After a decade of service and 346 appearances for Liverpool, the defensive midfielder joined Lazio where he has thrived as a key part of the side. He helped the club to Italian Cup glory last year.
Fernando Torres - Perhaps the passing years will allow for greater warmth from Liverpool fans for their former No 9. His departure turned many against him after the controversial £50million move to Chelsea in 2011. He never excelled for the Blues, scoring 45 times in 172 games before a move to AC Milan. Boyhood club Atletico Madrid then signed him until 2018, when he moved to Japan with Sagan Tosu. He has a gym business now having retired two years ago. 'Nine Fitness' in Madrid has three facilities and Torres has a number of other businesses in his portfolio.
Honourable mentions:
Glen Johnson - Not in the squad for the Merseyside derby but he played 28 of the 38 games in the Premier League that season. The former full-back retired last January having departed Stoke following three seasons with the Potters. He is now running an investment company called 'Bed of Honey' and looks every inch the dapper businessman if his social media is anything to go by.
