Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson has retired at the age of 31.
The Brazilian was last playing for Adana Demirspor in the Turkish second division. However, according to Sport Witness, the club's president earlier today announced Anderson had brought an end to his career.
Anderson is best remembered for his eight years at Manchester United.
While largely considered a flop during his time at Old Trafford, Anderson played 181 times at United helping them win four Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, a League Cup and a Community Shield.
Sir Alex Ferguson had signed him from Porto in the summer of 2007 for a fee thought to be in the region of £26 million.
