Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune has revealed that he has a dream to become the manager at Old Trafford.
The South African, who played under Sir Alex Ferguson from 1999 to 2006, has recently become the assistant manager of the club's Under 23 side.
Fortune said that his immediate aim is to improve the young talents that are learning their trade in the United youth sides and understands that it is likely he will have to prove himself as a manager at a different club.
When asked on his goals in coaching, Fortune told the Manchester United podcast: 'I thought about that question yesterday for some reason and my first thought was to become the manager of Manchester United. That's my dream.
'Of course, I'm starting now with the U23s and I'm learning a lot and I want to learn as much as possible because management changes so much in the game today.'
'[I want to] learn and just try to help young players get better. That's the main thing now for me. Yes we want to win games of course, but the aim now for myself and Woody is to get the players to the first team. That's the most important [thing]. And from there you learn as much as possible.
'Look, I [may] have to go out and learn somewhere else and become a manager. But the dream, the ultimate dream, is to come back and be the manager of Manchester United. From what I've been through, I'm going for the highest level.'
In 2014, The 43-year-old worked for Cardiff City as the assistant to their Under-23's but is now hoping to reach the highest level.
The South Africa international joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 1999 before leaving for Bolton Wanderers after seven seasons at Old Trafford as a back-up utility player.
