The Italian football federation (FIGC) council, who were due to meet next week to discuss ways forward for the league, have postponed the meeting to an as yet undetermined date.
The council were set to meet on Monday March 23 to discuss how Serie A and other Italian leagues and competitions could continue amid the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic but they have taken the decision to postpone the meeting for the time being although it is not clear as to why they have taken this decision.
European football's governing body UEFA's meeting with the 55 member associations and league boards tomorrow could perhaps have something to do with the decision being made.
Reports in the media have suggested that UEFA will announce the decision to postpone this Summer's European Championship's in order to allow league campaigns to finish as well as both the Champions League and Europa League in the Summer.
Following tomorrow's meeting, where things are expected to be made a lot clearer, a new date for a meeting could be set.
