Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Leiceister defender Çağlar Söyüncü will join Atletico.
Romano tweets: "Çağlar Söyüncü has signed with Atlético Madrid, here we go confirmed! Deal was agreed in January and it’s now sealed as Turkish centre back will join Atléti in the summer as free agent."
"Söyüncü’s contract will be valid until June 2027."
Soyuncu has been highlighted as an option for Simeone throughout the last 12 months with his role at the King Power Stadium significantly reduced.
The Foxes are ready to let the Turkish international leave on a free transfer, when his contract expires in June, with reports from Diario AS hinting at a pre-contract being agreed with Atletico.
