Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is attracting interest from some of the Premier League's biggest clubs, with his £50million release clause set to be active in the summer transfer window

Arsenal and Liverpool are among five Premier League clubs to have met Dean Huijsen's agents, as the race to sign the Bournemouth defender heats up. Huijsen, 19, has quickly emerged as one of Europe's most coveted centre-backs following his move from Italian giants Juventus last summer.

The centre-back has already made his debut for Spain, impressing during their recent Nations League quarter-final victory over the Netherlands. Huijsen registered an assist in the second leg and has also chipped in with two goals for Bournemouth this season, showcasing his talent in both boxes.

His form has led some of the Premier League's biggest clubs to register their interest. Chiefs from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham are said to have met with Huijsen's representatives to discuss a move.

The Athletic report that the 19-year-old has a release clause of £50million. Both Bournemouth and Huijsen want a swift outcome, with Spain due to compete in the Nations League semi-finals in June.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola is set to lose a number of his key players this summer, with left-back Milos Kerkez and forward Antoine Semenyo also in demand. Iraola, too, is being tipped to leave.

Huijsen recently stated that he wants to play at the highest level, with Real Madrid a rumoured destination. Huijsen told El Chiringuito TV: "One of my close friends sent me a story about Real. He told me to go to Madrid!"

"I don't know, we'll see. It's a big team. Every player wants to play at the maximum level possible. I have a contract until 2030, I do have a clause."

The ex-Juventus prospect, who spent last season on loan at Roma, then revealed that his idol is Madrid legend Sergio Ramos and praised manager Carlo Ancelotti. He said: "My idol? Ramos, since I was young. Ancelotti? He is a very good coach. He's not at Madrid for nothing, he has his merit."

Iraola addressed speculation over Huijsen's future last month, saying: "We are not surprised, probably because he has now made his national team debut. He has played well, probably they are talking more about him.

"He has been playing consistently and I think he has performed very well. He has faced very difficult forwards but we already knew he was a very good player when he came in the summer."
