The father of Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz has reportedly said the youngster hopes to play a 'good role' at Bayer Leverkusen for the next two seasons.
Wirtz is one of the highest rated teenage prospects in world football and has caught the eye of several top clubs across Europe.
The 18-year-old has made a stunning start to the season by scoring four goals and contributing the same number of assists in their opening five Bundesliga games of the campaign.
But Hans-Joachim Wirtz, who also acts as his son's agent, has said that the youngster is in no hurry to leave for a bigger club.
He told Bild: 'Florian definitely wants to play a good role in Leverkusen for the next two years.
'What comes next is not yet known. His focus now is only on Bayer and the national team.'
The comments would suggest that any team interested in making a move might have to wait two seasons before they have a chance of signing the teenage prodigy.
Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked to Wirtz, with German giants Bayern Munich also holding interest.
The attacking midfielder became a regular last season, scoring five goals in 29 appearances.
He then received his first international cap for the senior Germany squad earlier this month during a 2-0 victory against Liechtenstein.
Wirtz has received comparisons with former Leverkusen star Kai Havertz who left the club in 2020 to join Chelsea.
