Former Wales, Liverpool and Aston Villa player Dean Saunders has been charged with dangerous driving.
Saunders, who has also managed Wrexham AFC, was initially charged with two road traffic offences.
The ex-striker was driving on Friday, May 10 in Boughton, Chester, where it's alleged he failed to cooperate in giving a road side breath test.
He is also charged with failing to provide a specimen at Blacon Police Station, in relation to the same incident.
An additional charge of dangerous driving was later added. Saunders, 54, of Winsford, will next appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday.
In an illustrious playing career, Saunders was capped 75 times at senior level for Wales between 1986 and 2001, scoring 22 times. He is also a regular pundit on talkSPORT.
