Arsenal lead the way in the Premier League title race after extending their advantage at the top of the table to five points over Manchester City with a clean sheet and win against Everton on Wednesday

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has issued a two-word response after being left out of the latest Brazil squad ahead of the March international break. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus were also omitted from the Selecao squad ahead of the game against Morocco on March 25.

The 25-year-old has been crucial in helping Arsenal keep 14 clean sheets this term in all competitions, but has missed out on a Brazil call up once again with Real Madrid's Eder Militao and Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos both being selected ahead of him. Roma's Roger Ibanez and 19-year-old Robert Renan have also been picked to be a part of the squad ahead of Gabriel.

The Arsenal star responded to his Brazil snub on Twitter before deleting his post shortly after. Gabriel's tweet read: "New job *basketball emoji* *wink emoji*."

The decision not to select Gabriel will mean he stays with Arteta's squad throughout the international break, handing the Gunners a major boost in the title race with one of their key players being able to rest and have a full period of preparations ahead of a busy April fixture schedule. The same can be said for Martinelli, who was surprisingly left out with Tottenham's Richarlison being picked ahead of him, whilst Jesus will be given the time to recover fully before making his return.
