Fiorentina striker Giovanni Simeone would love to work with his father Diego at Atletico Madrid.
The 23-year-old admitted it would be 'amazing' to play for the Spanish side with Simeone Sr at the helm and even tipped him for the Argentina job.
'I never had the chance to be coached by my father. My old man has never asked me about the possibility but playing for Atletico would be amazing,' Giovanni told Fox Sports Argentina.
'Him becoming Argentina manager? He always says that it's not the right time, but as a player I'd like to see him coach the national team.
'I think every Argentine would like him because he's a great coach,' he added.
Giovanni has scored twice and provided one assist for Fiorentina this season and netted 15 times last term.
There is plenty of attacking competition for Simeone to negotiate before he can become a permanent fixture in the Argentina side, having so far earned three caps, but a move to Atletico is not out of the realms of possibility.
Giovanni has played under the weight of expectation his surname bestows on him but clearly he feels it wouldn't be a burden to work under his father.
When Giovanni played for Genoa, Diego indicated that he'd rather not complicate matters by signing his son.
He said: 'It would be too big a sacrifice and playing football shouldn't be a sacrifice. It is just a game, even though it is played by professionals.
'Thinking about seeing him in one of my teams would mean giving him a responsibility that wouldn't be good for him.'
'Giovanni has qualities that I like a lot and with effort and hard work he will definitely become a big player, but not with my team. There are a lot of clubs that can give him great opportunities.'
The Atletico boss has led the club to seven trophies since taking the job in 2011.
