It has been a thrilling first half in Florence, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Erick Pulgar goals, both teams hitting the crossbar and a goal-line clearance.

The Rossoneri were eliminated from the Europa League on Thursday by Manchester United and felt the fatigue of that game, especially with Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao, Mario Mandzukic, Davide Calabria, Alessio Romagnoli and Daniel Maldini injured. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had his first start in almost a month. The Viola missed Igor and Aleksandar Kokorin, with Christian Kouame and Sofyan Amrabat also not at 100 per cent.
There was a huge Fiorentina chance within four minutes, as Fikayo Tomori had to make the goal-line clearance on a looping Martin Caceres header from a corner.
However, Milan took the lead when Lucas Martinez Quarta kept Ibra onside on a floated Simon Kjaer ball over the top and kept his cool to beat Bartlomiej Dragowski one-on-one.
Fiorentina got back on level terms with a sensational Erick Pulgar free kick, curled up and over the wall, swerving inwards to the near top corner, so Gianluigi Donnarumma just barely got a hand to it.
The hosts almost turned it around completely with an audacious German Pezzella back-heel flick on a corner at the near post, which bounced off the underside of the bar. It was so close to Roberto Mancini’s legendary goal against Parma.
Franck Ribery was furious when he went down under a clumsy Brahim Diaz challenge in the box, but the referee judged it to be too weak for a penalty.
It was end-to-end stuff, as Ibrahimovic again sprung the offside trap on a Hakan Calhanoglu through ball and his dinked finish bounced off the crossbar.
Calhanoglu drilled wide, but Fiorentina lost goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski when he sprained his ankle during a goal kick, making way for Pietro Terracciano.
