'Happy Mothers Day': Rashford, Oxlade Chamberlain, and McGregor take to social media with messages

Stars have marked Mothering Sunday by taking to social media to express gratitude to their loved ones in touching posts.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, and Liverpool attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were amongst the names to show their love and support their ones.

Rashford posted a picture on Twitter showing a picture of himself along with his mum, whilst Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain uploaded an image of Little Mix star Perrie Edwards kissing their new born child on his head.

The 24-year-old Manchester-born United forward simply wrote: 'Happy Mother’s Day ♥️.'

Chamberlain said in his posts: "The first one is always special… Happy Mother’s Day to the best mum my lil man could ever have wished for! ❤️ @perrieedwards."

Meanwhile, Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier, who is recovering from a foot fracture, uploaded a picture to Instagram of himself and his wife Charlotte on a beach in Dubai.

He wrote: 'Happy Mother’s Day too these two special women in my life ❤️ @charlhtrippier @ellena1965'.

And Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also added a picture of him with his family.

UFC fighter Conor McGregor said on Instagram: 'Happy Mother’s Day my hot momma', in relation to his sister Erin.

While England are Harlequins rugby star Marcus Smith uploaded a post of himself and him mum, with the caption: 'Like mother like son! Happy Mother’s Day Mammijang, you are one of a kind, thanks for everything, love you❤️.'

Manchester City and England footballer Steph Houghton, also uploaded on Mother's Day, with the caption: /Happy Mothers Day to the absolute best Mam! The last few weeks have been the toughest but you have been there for us to do even the simplest of things! We can’t thank you enough! Love you always! ❤️.'
