Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was unable to resist a dig at their North London rivals Tottenham while hosting the FIFA Best Awards ceremony in London.
Henry had shared hosting duties for the awards at the Hammersmith Apollo with presenter and broadcaster Reshmin Chowdhury.
The former Arsenal, Barcelona and France forward was forced to accept Lionel Messi's FIFA Best Men's Player award on his behalf due to Argentine being absent from the ceremony.
'Someone is going to have to take the trophy,' Henry said. 'I actually have two reasons for taking it.
'I never won it, so i'll keep it.'
Henry then added to Chowdhury: 'You are a Tottenham fan right?', which his co-host confirmed.
'That's the other reason, as you do not usually get your hands on a trophy, so i'll take this one'.
Henry's cheeky joke referencing Tottenham's trophy drought, which stretches back to their League Cup triumph in 2008, received laughter and applause in the audience at the venue.
Tottenham remain in contention to win the FA Cup this season, unlike the Gunners, who suffered a third round exit to Liverpool.
Ange Postecoglou's side, however, have been handed a tough fourth round tie at home to holders Manchester City at the end of the month.
Arsenal and Spurs are currently level on points in the Premier League with the rivals five points behind leaders Liverpool.
The Gunners can move clear of Spurs should they win their game in hand on
