Arsenal may not be challenging for league titles or even qualifying for the Champions League these days but they still have one of the largest wage bills in European football.
As such, the London club has a squad size to rival any club in England, with senior first team players, average squad players and promising young talents.
Naturally, manager Mikel Arteta can’t promise game time to every player at the club so a number of them have been shipped out on loan this season to ensure they get game time and continue developing at a steady pace.

How are they performing?
There's little doubt that the most high-profile player to leave Arsenal on a loan deal this season was Hector Bellerin, who has started his spell at Betis rather brightly.
He has made eight appearances so far, and recorded one assist.
It seems fair to say that Arteta simply doesn't currently rate the talents of William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi, as both of those players have been sent out on loan again, this time at Marseille.
Both have featured extensively this season for Marseille, who recently held Paris Saint-Germain to a 0-0 draw in which both Arsenal Loanees featured in, but are still 11 points off the pace in Ligue 1.
Lucas Torreira was on loan at Atletico Madrid last season but barely made an impact. During the summer he campaigned for a move to Boca, but has had to settle for Fiorentina.
The midfielder made his debut against Atalanta and it's fair to say that he is slowly but surely forcing his way into a starting role for the Florence side after starting their last four games.
Runar Alex Runarsson has proved to be one of the club's most bizarre signings recently, and he has been sent away to Leuven.
Konstantinos Mavropanos is currently on loan at Stuttgart for the second season in a row, and the Bundesliga side have the option to sign him for just €3.5 million, so it doesn't look like he has a future at the Emirates.
Feyenoord were poised to sign Manchester United wonderkid Amad Diallo on loan for this campaign, but after he suffered an injury Reiss Nelson was sought as second choice.
He has played just 51 minutes in the Eredivisie so far.
