Ibrahimovic has Messi but no Ronaldo or any Man Utd player in dream XI

Zlatan Ibrahimovic picked an all-time dream XI and did not name a single Manchester United player past or present.

Well, that is not strictly true because the 37-year-old striker, who scored 29 goals for United between 2016 and 2018, selected himself up front.

But there was no place for Cristiano Ronaldo, with Brazil legend Ronaldinho given the nod up front to support Ibrahimovic alongside Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ibrahimovic were team-mates during the Swede's two seasons at Barcelona. And Ronaldinho and Ibrahimovic briefly linked up at Milan.

Ibrahimovic opted for a midfield three of Patrick Vieira, Xavi and Pavel Nedved, with Lilian Thuram, Thiago Silva, Alessandro Nesta and Maxwell making up his back four ahead of goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

His five-man subs bench comprised of Julio Cesar, Andres Iniesta, Fabio Cannavaro, Gennaro Gattuso, and Clarence Seedorf.

Ibrahimovic shared his team selection with his 36million followers on Instagram in a post he used to plug his latest book, which is humbly titled 'I Am Football'.

His caption read: 'In I Am Football I present my dream team. I also put in 50 pages with complete statistics and fun facts from my career, like how many goals I have done with my right foot and how many minutes I played with Inter. It will give you something to talk about this Christmas.'
