James likes to play as himself in FIFA 19 either in Bayern or Madrid jersey

He even plays in either a Bayern or a Madrid jersey.

James Rodriguez might not be getting as many minutes as he wants with Bayern Muinch under Niko Kovac, but the Colombian ace certainly isn’t lacking in the confidence department. In an interview with Colombian based outlet Bocas, as transcribed by Bild, James said that he always likes to play as himself in FIFA 19, and that he always chooses between either Bayern, or his former club, Real Madrid:

First of all, I always play in a Bayern jersey or Madrid’s. And secondly, (I always play) as James Rodriguez and I always want to score goals with this top player.

In FIFA 19, James boasts an official player rating of 88, with his passing abilities having the highest mark (88), closely followed by his shooting and dribbling, which are both marked at 86. A 72 for his pace seems a bit harsh, especially given the amount of injury problems he’s had, but his defense (50) and physicality (67) ring in at the lowest ratings on his card. Mind you, these ratings can and will change based on the game’s updates to reflect the player’s current form in real life.

James also commented on some of the coaches that have influenced him the most during the interview with Bocas, making sure to mention that he had no problems with the former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane:

Julio César Falconi, Carlo Ancelotti and José Pekerman. I didn’t have any problem with him (Zidane). He’s a good guy.

There was no mention of Jupp Heynckes, who helped James resurrect his Bayern career after a lackluster start under Ancelotti before he was eventually sacked.

Madrid are reportedly exploring the option of bringing James back to Spain, but it remains to be seen whether Bayern head coach Niko Kovac includes James in his plans for the future, especially with the big summer Bayern are anticipated to have in the transfer window.
