Arsenal news - Mikel Arteta has been preparing his players on the training pitches ahead of a tough Premier League clash against Everton

Mikel Arteta will have welcomed all of his Arsenal stars back to London Colney in the last few days ahead of their Premier League return against Everton. The Gunners headed into the international break on a high after beating Manchester United 3-1 and they will undoubtedly be hoping to keep that momentum this weekend and in doing so will end an unwanted six-year streak.

In last season's clash at Goodison Park, the Toffees brought Arsenal's 13-game unbeaten run to a screeching halt in Sean Dyche's first game in charge. That defeat saw an extra year added to a 2017 win, which was the last time Arsenal won on Merseyside, however Arteta will be hoping to change that this Sunday.

With that said, the Arsenal players are sure to have been working hard in training in the build-up to the game and amid the latest round of pictures being released, football.london has pulled together all the big moments from London Colney.

Jesus warning

Gabriel Jesus could make his first start of the season on Sunday having now fully recovered from the minor knee operation that saw him miss the opening weeks. The 26-year-old came off the bench to score against Manchester United and was then called up to the Brazil squad to replace Antony.

With more full training sessions under his belt, Jesus looks fighting fit and ready to get back among the goals consistently and he certainly looked to be practising that in training. Three photos uploaded to Arsenal's website showed Jesus, with the first him looking up at the ball, the second coming just after his connection and the third seeing him pictured on the floor celebrating, something Arsenal fans will hope to see this weekend.

Saka concern

Saka is one of the smaller, lighter players in the Gunners team so seeing Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes climb onto his back for a training photo would understandably make some supporters sweat over a potential injury being suffered. Saka also appears to not be enjoying bearing the weight of his two large team-mates.

Rice and Gabriel relationship

In the very early days of his Arsenal career, it was clear Declan Rice had struck up a friendship with Gabriel Magalhaes.

The duo have now once again been spotted teasing one another in training following on from both of them climbing onto Saka. Their relationship could prove to be crucial when it comes to playing together as a prolonged run in the team for Rice in the holding midfield role and Gabriel in defence looks likely, due to the injury suffered by Thomas Partey.

Arsenal have returned to the Champions League after a six year absence - and confidence is high Mikel Arteta’s men can make a genuine run to the final at Wembley.
