Jose Mourinho is reportedly plotting an ambitious attempt to convince Paulo Dybala to sign for Roma this summer.
The Argentine forward's seven-year stay at Juventus will come to an end this summer when his contact expires at the end of June.
Dybala paid an emotional farewell to Juve fans on Monday night as he played his final home game for the Turin club - a 2-2 draw with Lazio.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan but Premier League sides Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as Atletico Madrid in Spain are keen.
However, according to La Repubblica, Mourinho is set to launch a huge charm offensive to convince the former Palermo star to sign for Roma.
Luring Dybala to Rome would require a huge financial commitment by the Friedkins - Roma's owners - with the forward reportedly offered a £5m-a-year deal by Inter.
Mourinho looks likely to lose star man Nicolo Zaniolo this summer with Juventus particularly interested in the Italian international.
His exit would free up some space on the wage bill and provide an opening for Dybala to play regularly under Mourinho.
Dybala has been one of the most coveted players in European football in recent years and has regularly been linked with a move away from Turin - though he looks certain to leave the club this summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this month that Dybala had already agreed to sign for Inter, after they told the forward he would be a 'central' part of Simone Inzaghi's team.
Dybala was said to be signing a four-year-deal worth £5m-a-year, the report added, making him the joint-highest earner alongside forward Lautaro Martinez and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
Dybala was handed the captain's armband at the end of Juve's draw with Lazio on Monday and he was later visibly distraught after playing his last home game for the club.
After the game players threw Dybala into the air and his emotion came out as he was brought to tears having played his last game in a Juventus shirt.
'It is difficult to find the right words to greet you, there are so many years and so many emotions involved, all together,' said the Argentina international in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday.
'I thought we would have been together even more years, but fate puts us on different paths.
'I will never forget everything you made me experience, every game, every goal.
'With you I grew up, I learned, I lived and I dreamed. It has been seven years of magic, 12 trophies and 115 goals that no one will take away from us. Never.
'Thank you for supporting me in difficult times. Thanks to those who have accompanied me over the years: from the first to the last, from the fans to the people who work within the club, everyone, coaches and teammates, employees and managers.
'Wearing this important jersey together with the captain's armband has been one of the greatest pride of my life, which I hope to show to my children and grandchildren someday.'
