Jude Bellingham was pictured at the Stadium of Light on Saturday watching his younger brother Jobe who was named in the starting line-up for Sunderland's 3-0 defeat by Coventry City.
It was Micheale Beale's first game in charge of the Black Cats, after he was named as the successor to Tony Mowbray who was sacked at the start of December, with Sunderland dropping to ninth in the Championship table having lost 10 games this season.
Jobe, who signed for Sunderland earlier this summer from Birmingham City has enjoyed an excellent first season at his new club, featuring in all but one of their Championship fixtures this season, returning four goals and an assist.
His impressive performances have seen him start 20 of those 21 appearances, but the club have been weary in recent weeks to ensure that the 18-year-old star does not get burnt out over the festive period, with Jobe coming on as a sub during Sunderland's 1-0 defeat by Bristol City last weekend.
Despite that, he was back in the starting eleven for today's game against Coventry City, with his brother making the trip from Madrid to watch him play - but it was not the result the Real Madrid star would have been hoping for.
Jude had been in action on Thursday, helping Real Madrid claim a last-gasp victory agaisnt Deportivo Alaves to keep them joint top of the LaLiga standings, level with Girona on 45 points.
He was seen taking a picture of the pitch from the stands inside the Stadium of Light, smiling and speaking with spectators around him.
While Bellingham looked in good spirits, Sunderland found themselves 3-0 down after 70 minutes, conceding their second defeat on the bounce.
Tatsuhiro Sakamoto opened the scoring right before half-time before Callum O'Hare and Kasey Palmer found the back of the net in the second half.
Mail Sport had this week been sheading some light on how their parents, Mark and Denise, have been splitting their time up to support the two superstars.
Earlier this week, Mrs Bellingham had been spotted in Madrid with Jude, before days later being pictured celebrating her birthday in a restaurant in Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Jobe and Jude were pictured holidaying together earlier this summer, with the duo enjoying a break in the south of France, before joining up with their new clubs.
Jude, meanwhile, has also enjoyed a flying start to life in the Spanish capital scoring 17 goals in his first 21 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid, including two goas in his last three LaLiga appearances.
Madrid are next in action on January 3 against Mallorca, while Sunderland will play three games before then, with their first coming next Tuesday against Hull City.
