Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has taken aim at Juventus after revealing Matthjis de Ligt's training comments since his switch from the Italian side.
The Dutch centre-back completed a £68million move from Juventus to the German giants this month and has already given his verdict on the step-up in intensity between the two European giants.
Nagelsmann, who's comments also ruffled the feathers of Spurs' Antonio Conte last week, has not held back in his brutal appraisal of the Italian side's training regime.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nagelsmann said: 'I spoke to him [de Ligt] after training and he told me that today's session was the hardest in the last four years. It was difficult, but not that much.'
Bayern have gained a reputation for improving their players' physique and conditioning and it seems that De Ligt is feeling the full force of that since joining.
The Bavarian side had been in America for their pre-season tour of the country - where they faced Manchester City and DC United before returning ahead of the DFL-Supercup this weekend.
De Ligt had been reluctant to sign a new deal with Juventus beyond the final two years of his initial five-year deal with the club and as such they were happy to cash in on the Dutchman this window.
Last week, Spurs boss Antonio Conte hit out at the Bayern Munich head coach for talking about his admiration for Harry Kane - with the England captain drawing interest after Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona.
Nagelsmann, talking on Friday during his club’s United States tour, described the price tag involved as ‘a problem’ even though Kane would take the Bundesliga by storm.
The coach said: ‘He [Kane] is very expensive. That's the problem - but brilliant player. One of two or three who can play as a centre-forward [as well as a] No 10, but he's very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet.
‘He could score a lot in the Bundesliga. I don't know the price, but it's really tough for Bayern Munich. We'll see what happens in the future.’
