Kobbie Mainoo, the 18-year-old Manchester United talent, earned his maiden senior England call-up this week.

England are set to face football powerhouses Brazil and Belgium at Wembley Stadium in the international friendlies.

Mainoo's call-up comes on the heels of his stellar performance in United's thrilling 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup, where the 18-year-old left an indelible mark.

Despite his youth, Mainoo has impressed this season since making his Premier League debut in November.

Hailing from the United academy, where he has honed his skills since the age of seven, Mainoo has been affectionately dubbed with a nickname that pays homage to his reality star older brother, Jordan Mainoo-Hames.

Jordan Mainoo-Hames appeared on reality TV show Love Island in 2019 in the show's fifth season.

Since his brother's appearance on the hit show, Kobbie has been affectionately known as 'Love Island' to the Man United kit man.

During England's 'First Impressions' interview, Mainoo explained: 'My brother was on it. I'm close to him.

'You know what, going back to another question - my nickname. The kit man at United always called me 'Love Island'. [He's been doing so] since I was like 16.' He added.

Mainoo clarified that he's not one to charm his way through situations like his brother, remarking, 'No, it's not even that. They're just jokers.'

Amidst the excitement surrounding his England call-up, Mainoo expressed his astonishment and joy, stating, 'I was shocked and happy [to receive a call-up]. It's been a whirlwind of emotions, a pretty mad couple of days.'

Jordan Mainoo-Hames gained fame during his stint on Love Island, where he coupled up with Anna Vakili before developing a connection with newcomer India Reynolds.

Post-Love Island, Jordan ventured into modelling for the likes of Vogue, Louis Vuitton, and JD Sports, while also dabbling in the property development sector.
