The NBA superstar and the Bayern Munich sensation crossed paths and exchanged jersey as well as some playful banter.
Following a high-stakes NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, Bayern Munich's star left-back Alphonso Davies met with Mavericks' point guard Luka Doncic in the Crypto.com Arena tunnel. The Lakers star teased Davies about potentially joining Real Madrid, which Davies quickly denied. The Canadian left back was long-rumored to be joining Los Galacticos, prior to putting an end to speculation by penning a new deal with German giants Bayern Munich.
Doncic was surprisingly traded to Los Angeles after being the face of the Dallas Mavericks since being drafted in 2018. Before coming to the NBA, the Slovenian rose to prominence as a member of Real Madrid, averaging 16 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the Euroleague - the second-biggest basketball competition in the world - in his last year with the Spanish club.
With the March international break currently ongoing, Davies and Canada face Mexico next in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal. Following that, Davies will return to Bayern Munich to face FC St. Pauli at home and then Augsburg on the road on March 29 and April 5.
