Lampard, Tevez & five players who have played for Man City and West Ham in EPL

Manchester City have a fantastic record against the relegation-threatened West Ham, scoring 14 and conceding just three in their last five league meetings, and will hoping for another routine victory in their rearranged Premier League fixture on Wednesday night.

Over the years, more than a dozen players have made both Manchester and East London their home, including Stuart Pearce, David James and Craig Bellamy.

Ahead of their 38th Premier League meeting, here is a list of five of the most memorable players who've represented both clubs.

Frank Lampard (West Ham 1995-2001, Man City 2014-2015)

Part of a West Ham side that included Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Michael Carrick, Lampard was just one of many Premier League stars whose career started in claret and blue. He got his first taste of silverware with the Hammers, winning the Intertoto Cup in 1999, before graduating to super-stardom with Chelsea in 2001. 13 seasons and 13 trophies later, Lampard signed for Man City-affiliated New York City and spent the 2014-15 season with the Sky Blues before moving to the States. Although he was unable to add to his medal haul with City, he notched up enough appearances to become only the second player (after Ryan Giggs) to pass 600 Premier League appearances.

Trevor Sinclair (West Ham 1998-2003, Man City 2003-2007)

Sinclair joined the Hammers in January 1998 and hit the ground running, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances as the club enjoyed a top eight finish. The winger scored 38 goals in 194 appearances and collected an Intertoto Cup medal alongside Lampard during five and half seasons at the Boleyn Ground. Sold to Man City following West Ham's relegation in 2003 for £3.3million, the England international scored the first competitive goal at the then-named City of Manchester Stadium during a 5-0 thrashing of Welsh side Total Network Solutions in the UEFA Cup. He retired in 2008 after a season in the Championship with Cardiff.

Paulo Wanchope (West Ham 1999-2000, Man City 2000-2005)

A cult hero at Derby County after his debut goal at Old Trafford in 1997, the Costa Rican signed for the Hammers two years later and is the third member of the 1999 Intertoto Cup side on the list. Wanchope spent a single season at West Ham, scoring 15 goals as one half of a formidable strike force with Paolo di Canio, before transferring to Premier League new boys City in July 2000. His highlights from four years in Manchester include a hat-trick on his home debut, a short-lived strike partnership with George Weah and screaming into a pitchside mic at St. Mary's.

Carlos Tevez (West Ham 2006-2009 (on loan at Man United 2007-2009), Man City 2009-2013)

A West Ham legend. Hammers' fans will never forget his goal at Old Trafford on the final day of the 2006/07 season which saved the club from relegation at the expense of Sheffield United. However, Neil Warnock is not the only person with a grudge against the Argentinian. Following a loan spell at United, he upset the red half of Manchester by signing for arch-rivals City in 2011 where he won three trophies and memorably featured on a “Welcome to Manchester” billboard. Tevez is currently in his third spell at Boca Juniors having also played for Juventus and Shanghai Shenhua since leaving Manchester.

Pablo Zabaleta (Man City 2008-2017, West Ham 2017-present)

The Argentinian is the only player on the list to move from Manchester to the capital. Signed from Espanyol in 2008, he reportedly turned down Juventus in favour of the Sky Blues and has since become one of the best fullbacks in Premier League history. A key player in City's inaugural title winning side, Zabaleta won six trophies in nine successful seasons in Manchester before moving to West Ham in summer 2017. Earlier this season he became the first Argentinian to amass 300 Premier League appearances and will be hoping to feature on Wednesday night in what is likely to be his last match at the Etihad.
