Leon Bailey has undergone a medical in Florida ahead of his £30million move to Aston Villa.
The Bayer Leverkusen winger is in the USA after playing for Jamaica in the Gold Cup but is expected to complete his move to Villa later this week after completing the medical in Miami on Sunday evening.
The finer details of his personal terms are still to be agreed plus work permit and visa applications before the transfer can be finalised.
The exciting 23-year old will bring the extra quality and pace to Villa’s flanks that Dean Smith has been searching for.
Smith is having to re-shape his side after Manchester City activated the £100million clause for captain Jack Grealish to pre-empt his British record transfer.
Villa are also looking to make a renewed bid for Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse after their £25m offer was rejected and want Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell.
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe remains a loan option for their defence though Villa face competition from Newcastle United.
