Lingard and Rashford meet up in Miami ahead of joining up with United team-mates

Here is a sight that could cheer Jose Mourinho up a bit.

Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford met up in Miami on Sunday along with Arsenal's Danny Welbeck before joining  their Manchester United team-mates this week.

Mourinho has spoken about how he has missed some of his first-team players who were given an extended leave following the conclusion of the World Cup in Russia.

Lingard and Rashford were part of the England team that made it to the semi-finals before Gareth Southgate's side was beaten by Croatia.

They still seemed to be relaxing and enjoying themselves with Lingard choosing to post the picture on Instagram of their close group, which included friend Jamal Branker.

Mourinho has been left frustrated over the last few days.

He spoke after United's 4-1 defeat by Liverpool in the International Champions Cup about how the club's tour has not been worth watching, how the board have let him down with transfers and that half of the players who started against Jurgen Klopp's side won't survive the season.

United have two more friendly matches to play before they start the new Premier League season.

United play Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Wednesday night ahead of taking on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Sunday.

Mourinho's side open the new season on Friday, August 10 when they host Leicester City at Old Trafford.
