Liverpool 'have made contact with Vasco da Gama' over the availability of Brazilian wonderkid Talles Magno, who has been described as 'the next Neymar.'
The 18-year-old, who is able to play as a centre forward or on the left-side of the attack, is considered one of the brightest prospects in the Brazilian championship.
Magno made a handful of appearances for Vasco in the state championship, Brazilian Cup and Copa Sudamericana this year having made his first-team breakthrough in 2019.
The forward was part of the Brazil team that won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup on home soil last year, scoring two goals during their successful campaign.
He has now moved on to their Under-19 side and has scored three times in six appearances.
Fully aware of his potential, Vasco signed Magno to a new contract last November lasting until 2022 and with a £45million release clause.
But, according to Yahoo Esportes in Brazil, Liverpool have made contact to determine whether a transfer is possible at the current time.
They report that French clubs Lille and Paris Saint-Germain could also enter the race to sign the teenager, as well as Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen and Krasnodar elsewhere in Europe.
It is believed that cash-strapped Vasco may be willing to sell Magno for as little as £18m but the Brazilian club will hope for a bidding war.
The Brazilian side sold one of their most promising and exciting talents Paulinho to Bayer Leverkusen back in 2018 for a mere £17million, despite him being rated at a higher value.
They have admitted that they are now in a similar position again and will need to sell again if they are stay afloat.
