Hello everyone and welcome along to our 2022 Community Shield live blog, as we bring you the latest updates from English's football's traditional curtain raiser, which this year will see Premier League champions Manchester City take on FA Cup winners Liverpool.
The first piece of silverware of the 2022/23 season is on offer at the King Power Stadium and Manchester City will be determined to win it, after losing this match against Leicester City this time last year.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will look to make it yet another successful trip to Wembley, after winning the League Cup and FA Cup finals there last year.
It's usually a spectacular contest whenever these Manchester City and Liverpool sides take each other on, so let's hope it's a fun one this Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool vs Manchester City LIVE - Latest Community Shield Updates
This is the first competitive game we'll be covering with a live blog in the 2022/23 season, so it's an exciting one.
Jurgen Klopp, though, isn't quite so enthusiastic about this competition, at least based on his Friday press conference quotes.
"I like the competition, but I think it would be possible to find another date," the German said.
"We had a longer season than other teams and now we have a shorter pre-season.
"It makes not too much sense. Maybe somebody can think about this."
Still, once the ball gets rolling, Klopp and his players will surely give their all to try to give the travelling support something to cheer about.
Manchester City will hope to do likewise, in what will be their first competitive game since the dramatic final day of the last Premier League season, when they roared back to win the title.
