It is not too often that footballers share a pitch with their doppelganger but fans were left asking 'who is the real David Luiz?' after the Chelsea man swapped shirts with Slavia Prague's Alex Kral.
The 20-year-old plays in central defence, like Luiz, and boasts a similar head of distinct curly hair.
After Chelsea booked their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League after a thrilling 4-3 win at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, Kral was invited into the home dressing room where he swapped shirts in front of Luiz's locker.
Luck of the draw in the Europa League ensured the two would meet and Luiz appeared delighted to by greeted by Kral in both the home and away legs.
Having uploaded the photo to his Instagram page, Luiz wrote: 'Was so good to see u my friend! God bless u always and for sure u will continue to be great!!! Keep going!! Good luck.'
Fans quickly flooded the comments with 'twins' or 'I see no difference' with the two players bearing a striking resemblance of each other.
Chelsea were 1-0 winners out in the Czech Republic but Luiz was an unused substitute and the pair were unable to swap shirts on that occasion.
They did manage to grab a photo together inside the tunnel at the Sinobo Stadium but with both on the pitch in west London on Thursday, the 'twins' as fans call them, were able to make the trade.
It all started so well for Chelsea as they raced into a 3-0 lead after just 17 minutes following goals from Pedro, Olivier Giroud and an own goal from Simon Deli.
Tomas Soucek reduced the deficit before Pedro grabbed his second two minutes later to make it 5-1 on aggregate by half-time.
But two goals from Petr Sevcik inside 10 minutes after the restart set up a nervy finale having had such a control over the game. Chelsea will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-finals.
