England international Harry Maguire embraced fatherhood on Thursday morning, as he welcomed a new baby daughter into the world.

The 26-year-old is celebrating the arrival with fiancee Fern Hawkins, his childhood sweetheart from Sheffield.

Maguire took to social media to reveal the happy news, posting a picture of himself holding the little hand of his newborn baby along with the caption: 'Welcome Lillie Saint Maguire.'

Team-mates and fellow footballers soon began to offer their congratulations, with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison sending their well wishes.

Centre-back partner Michael Keane, who started recently alongside Maguire in England's Euro 2020 qualification matches also added, 'congratulations mate.'

Taking to her personal account Hawkins, 24, also shared the same heart-warming photograph with her 22,000 followers.

'A little project I have been working on for the past 9 months,' wrote Hawkins.

'Lillie Saint Maguire, you have stolen our hearts you precious angel.'

Maguire and Hawkins have been together for over seven years, having met in Sheffield early on in the footballer's career.

Hawkins was regularly seen on camera supporting Maguire during the Russia World Cup last summer, in which he became an integral figure for the Three Lions.

The pair got engaged on February 17, 2018, after Hawkins revealed that Maguire had asked her to marry him during a romantic getaway to Paris.

The defender rocketed to stardom following his £17million move to Leicester from Hull City, after which he became a mainstay in the England side.

Maguire was heavily linked with a big money move to Manchester United following the World Cup, and was believed to be the top of a list of targets outlined by previous manager Jose Mourinho.
