Manchester City fans have told manager Pep Guardiola to start Phil Foden in the FA Cup 5th round clash against Sheffield Wednesday this week.
City picked up their first piece of silverware of the season on Sunday with a hard fought victory over Aston Villa and will go straight into action in another tournament when they travel to Hillsborough on Wednesday.
Foden started at Wembley and was comfortably the Man of the Match after a dazzling performance, in which he showed off his brilliant touch and set up Sergio Aguero's opener with a wonderful piece of play.
Despite being immensely talented, the 19-year-old has still struggled for minutes this season and has only started twice in the Premier League in the entire campaign.
However, after such a good performance on Sunday, supporters want to see the 'Stockport Iniesta' given a solid run in the side and it could start in South Yorkshire on Wednesday.
MEN Sport asked City fans: "After his great performance in the Carabao Cup final, should Phil Foden start on Wednesday in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday?"
An overwhelming majority of 94 per cent of the 703 voters were all in favour of seeing Foden start for the second game in a row and were keen to see him deployed out wide, where he fared so well against Aston Villa, again.
Only a mere six per cent were against him starting against Wednesday, and that may be because they'd rather him be saved to play in the weekend's Manchester derby instead.
