Football Manager 2023 has ranked Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne as the best footballer in the world, beating Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema to the top spot.
The brand-new football simulation game was released on Tuesday, November 8, on PC, Mac, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and Mobile Devices. With the game now available to play, players can see who some of the best players in the game are, and De Bruyne is the highest-rated.
The City midfielder played a major part in Pep Guardiola's side's Premier League title success last season, scoring 15 and assisting eight in the league. So far this season, the Belgian has continued his form, scoring three and assisting nine in the opening 13 league games.
In FM23, players are rated between 1-200 on Current Ability (CA) and Potential Ability (PA). Current Ability is how good the player is now, and Potential Ability is how good the player could be in the future.
Using CA, De Bruyne is the highest-ranked player in FM23, rated a whopping 189/200, beating the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski and Benzema to the top spot. Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe takes the second spot with a CA of 188/200, whilst the nearest Premier League players to De Bruyne in the list are Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and City's Erling Haaland, both rated 185/200.
As a club, City have one of the best squads on Football manager 2023, with 15 of the top 50 rated Premier League players from Guardiola's side. Here's a list of the City players in the top 50 along with their positions in the list.
Liverpool and Chelsea both have 10 players in the FM23 top 50 Premier League players, making City the only club that could make a starting XI with subs featuring players from the top 50 list.
Football Manager 2023 is out now on PC and Mac, whilst FM23 Touch is also out now for Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade, so the game can be played on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV for the first time. FM23 console is out now on Xbox Series S/X, but the PS5 release has been delayed indefinitely.
