Man United's new £50m man Wan-Bissaka left seething

Manchester United's £50million defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been left fuming by his treatment from England under-21s boss Aidy Boothroyd.

As Wan-Bissaka's new United team-mates leave for Australia on Sunday for the start of their pre-season tour, he will be expecting a far happier trip than the debacle of last month's European Championships.

The right-back was in the process of completing a move from Crystal Palace to United and scored a late own goal when England were beaten in the opening game by hosts Italy.

Boothroyd's reaction was to claim the 21-year-old had seen his 'head turned' and then dropped him for the remaining two group games, neither of which England won as they crashed out of the competition.

The normally placid Wan-Bissaka was angered by the way Boothroyd handled the situation and will be keen to show his new club boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer what he can do as United embark on a tour of Australia, Singapore and China.

He will join the rest of United's squad during the trip after being given some extra time off following the Under-21s tournament.
