Manchester United have been left with a sinking feeling after one of the club's Chinese 'experience centres' in Beijing opened with the ship on the Red Devils crest sailing in the wrong direction.
United plan to tap into the Chinese market by opening several such centres across the Asian nation in 2020, with a 'preview centre' in Beijing the first to offer a sneak peak at what is in store.
But as seen in a photo at the centre's opening last week, a huge United badge above the doors clearly shows an incorrect Red Devils badge.
The club's ship, which is symbolic of the Manchester Canal which helped facilitate trade the city, normally sails from right to left. However, above the preview centre, the installation has the ship travelling off to the right.
Fans were quick to quip on Reddit that the crest was actually very accurate as it reflects how the club itself is travelling in the wrong direction.
Another user wrote: 'It represents the club's commitment towards finding a right winger'.
The experience centres are being constructed across China with the intention of providing 'the excitement of the club without leaving home'.
They will allow Chinese fans to visit Old Trafford, develop skills, compete with friends as well as to buy United merchandise.
