Derby County are keen to sign Manchester United Amad Diallo on loan, as Wayne Rooney turns to his former club to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.
The Ivorian arrived from Atalanta to huge fanfare in a £25 million deal in January last year, but his opportunities at Old Trafford have been very limited so far.
The 19-year-old has featured just nine times in all competitions for United's senior squad scoring one goal.
This season, Diallo played 68 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Young Boys in the Champions League and was an unused sub in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.
The teenager looked set for a loan move to Feyenoord in the summer, but the deal never materialised after he suffered an injury that kept him out of action until the end of September.
As reported by The Sun last month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Feyenoord were still interested in taking the 19-year-old on loan, with Atalanta and Crystal Palace also keeping tabs on him.
Diallo's contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025 and United hope a spell out on loan will help develop him into a regular member of the first-team squad.
Derby are bottom of the Championship with 11 points after they were deducted 21 points for various financial breaches and entering administration by the EFL, but they haven't given up hopes of pulling off an unlikely escape.
Rooney's men have won three and drawn one of their last four games and remain 11 points adrift of safety.
Meanwhile, Anthony Elanga is also looking to leave Old Trafford on loan.
The winger, who scored on his debut against Wolves last season, signed a new four-year deal with United last month and has already made four senior appearances this season.
United interim manager Ralf Rangnick, however, is determined to keep the 19-year-old at Old Trafford this season.
