Tottenham interim boss Ryan Mason wants to end the club's disappointing season on a high note for the fans, ahead of the last home game of the campaign.
Spurs host Brentford in Saturday's lunchtime game, looking for a win that would secure European football for the club next season.
It's been a season of turmoil at the North London club, having seen Antonio Conte part ways with the club, and then his temporary replacement Christian Stellini removed from his post after Spurs' shocking 6-1 defeat to Newcastle.
Mason was placed in charge for the remainder of the season, and wants to use the final home fixture of the season to given the fans something to smile about.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Mason stated: 'It's important that they see and feel a team that's trying to transfer energy to them. We want to give them something to feel happy about.'
The upheaval at the club has seen fans place the blame at owner Daniel Levy and several protests have taken place, with supporters wanting change from Levy and the ENIC group.
Since taking temporary charge, Mason has only overseen one win as boss, the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Their poor form has seen their Champions League hopes fade away, however, a win over the Bees should secure a spot in either the Europa League of Europa Conference League for 2023-24.
Whether or not Mason remains in the same position for next season remains to be seen, with the club no closer naming a long-term successor to Antonio Conte.
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is the latest name said to be high on Tottenham's wish list, after Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso ruled himself out the running.
Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Ange Postecoglu and Luis Enrique are also still viewed as possible alternatives.
Ahead of the London derby with Brentford, Mason also confirmed that talks with on-loan defender Clement Lenglet over a possible permanent deal will have to wait until the end of the season.
'These conversations I'm sure will happen in the summer.' Mason added.
'Right now it's not on my mind but I would say about Clem is that he is the type of character we want around the training ground, he is professional, he does it right. He's vocal and the more people we can keep hold of and get in the more beneficial it is.'
After Saturday's clash, Tottenham finish their campaign with a trip to Leeds on the final day of the season.
