The line-ups for next month's Masters Football tournament were announced on Thursday, boasting a star-studded list of former players including Jamie Carragher, Steve McManaman and Louis Saha.

The popular six-a-side tournament, which is strictly for players aged 35 and over, is making a return this summer following an 11-year hiatus.

Each endowed with an eight-man squad, Liverpool, Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers will flaunt football legends of yesteryear at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow on July 8.

The newly launched sports documentary streaming website 360 Sports Television will host the round-robin tournament, which will feature 16 minute games with eight-minute halves.

Masters Football posted the squads to Twitter on Thursday.

Liverpool

Sander Westerveld, Jamie Carragher, Stephen Warnock, Steve McManaman, David Thompson, Stewart Downing, Luis Garcia, Jermaine Pennant

The Reds boast two stars of the 2005 Champions League winning team - Carragher and Luis Garcia - as well as McManaman, who made 364 appearances for Liverpool and later won two Champions Leagues at Real Madrid.

McManaman will be joined by Jermaine Pennant and Stewart Downing on the wings, with Sander Westerveld starting in goal.

Stephen Warnock and David Thompson both started their careers at Anfield before moving on to carve out fruitful careers in the top flight and football league.

McManaman is the oldest member of Liverpool's squad aged 50, whilst Pennant, 39, is the youngest.

Manchester United

Paul Rachubka, Wes Brown, John O’Shea, Karel Poborsky, Darron Gibson, Quinton Fortune, Louis Saha, TBC

One member of the Red Devils squad is yet to be confirmed, which still keeps hope alive for Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, who Sportsmail tipped to make the squad in February.

Former Man United under-23s assistant and current Reading first-team coach Quinton Fortune will join ex-Czech international and oldest team member Karel Poborsky on the flanks, with the youngest player of the squad Darren Gibson, 34, in midfield.

Familiar team-mates Wes Brown and John O'Shea, who played together for 12 years and contributed a combined 488 appearances at Old Trafford, will guard Paul Rachubka between the sticks.

Louis Saha will lead the line, having scored 42 goals for the Red Devils during his four year spell in Manchester.

Celtic

Rob Douglas, Kelvin Wilson, Mark Wilson, Joe Ledley, Kris Commons, Stilyan Petrov, Simon Donnelly, Carlton Cole

Ex-England international Carlton Cole made the cut despite only making four appearances for Celtic during his playing career, over a century fewer than his strike partner Simon Donnelly, who spent a six-year spell at the club between 1993 and 1999.

Oldest squad member and goalkeeper Rob Douglas will be joined by defenders Kelvin Wilson and Mark Wilson ahead of him, who played in the Celtic back line together a decade ago.

Former Welsh star Joe Ledley is the youngest in the Celtic team aged 35 and has Kris Commons and Stiliyan Petrov for company in midfield, who each played over 100 appearances for the club during their playing days.

Rangers

Roy Carroll, Alan Hutton, Carlos Cuellar, Pedro Mendes, Lee McCulloch, Barry Ferguson, Kris Boyd, Michael Mols

Barry Ferguson and Alan Hutton are the only two in Rangers' squad to start their playing careers at the club, with the latter being the team's youngest asset aged 37.

Former Holland international Michael Mols, 51, is the oldest player in the ranks and will partner Kris Boyd up front, who scored over a century of goals for Rangers.

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll will actually be making his first Rangers appearance at the Masters tournament, having never earned his Gers stripes during his one-year spell at the Ibrox in 2007-08.

Defender Carlos Cuellar, Portuguese midfielder Pedro Mendes and winger Lee McCulloch complete the seven-man squad.
