Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe says he has not asked to leave the club this summer
Earlier on Tuesday, Le Parisien linked Kylian Mbappé (24) with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but the France captain has taken to social media to deny the reports and reaffirm his commitment to representing Paris Saint-Germain next season.
An explosive letter, sent by Mbappé to the PSG administrative council yesterday, reaffirmed Mbappé’s decision not to trigger a one-year extension. As a result, the AS Monaco academy product’s contract with Les Parisiens expires next summer, and determined not to lose a highly-valuable asset on a free, the club are reportedly prepared to sell Mbappé this summer.
Having failed to bring Mbappé to the Bernabeu last summer, Foot Mercato have reported that Real Madrid will make a fresh attempt to sign the player this summer, and the club’s President, Florentino Perez, has already made contact with the PSG forward.
Le Parisien then reported that the interest was reciprocal and that Mbappé wanted to move to Real Madrid this summer. However, the France captain has taken to Twitter to deny the story, quote tweeting the article in question and stating: “Lies… At the same time, the bigger it (the story) is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue at PSG next season, where I am happy.”
Mbappé’s desire is clearly to see out the final year of his contract in Paris, but whether that is also PSG’s desire, is another question.
