Mason Mount is set to see his paycheque quadruple when he joins Manchester United from Chelsea.
The Blues have agreed to sell the England international to their Premier League rivals for up to £60m - and it seems that Mount will benefit significantly on a financial front by moving up north.
Mount is set to sign a five-year deal worth £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford, with the option of another year extension.
The 24-year-old was entering into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, where he was earning just a quarter of the sum that he is set to pocket while playing for Erik ten Hag's side in Manchester.
Bonuses could even see Mount's weekly wage increase to £300,000, depending on performances.
Mount was one of the Dutchman's main transfer targets this summer, but Man United were reluctant to overpay for him.
However, the Red Devils reopened talks with Chelsea to try and thrash out a deal, with players set to be returning for pre-season training imminently.
Mount made 195 senior appearances for Chelsea, a club he joined as a six-year-old, and won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup with the west London club.
New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was an admirer of Mount, and saw him fitting well into his system at the club.
However, the Blues also have financial obligations to meet, and being able to sell a youth talent for a significant sum will help to balance the books after a year of chaotic spending under Todd Boehly.
Mount wished to get Chelsea to increase his £80,000-a-week wages, after being named the club's Player of the Year in 2020-21 and 2021-22, but the Blues refused.
Earlier this week, Mount and Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh met with children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses for a Make-A-Wish event held in partnership with Disney.
