Tottenham Hotspur have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in relation to the coronaviurs in recent times but with the help of manager Jose Mourinho they are stepping up their aid in the fight against Covid-19.

Formerly known as the 'Special One', Mourinho was on hand to make the first of his special weekly deliveries of food produced at the club's Kitchen Garden, located at their training ground, towards local communities.

In pictures posted on Instagram he is seen wearing PPE while carrying produce such as spinach and rhubarb away from Hotspur Way, which usually produces food for the first-team, before delivering it to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The club's ground is currently acting as a hub for the NHS as well as one for food distribution and from there Haringey council will divert the resources to those most in need locally.

Mourinho has previously been criticised in the last month of the pandemic, having been seen breaking social distancing rules in taking training sessions in public with some of his stars.

But the latest pictures posted on the club's Instagram account of his work for communities won praise from past and present Spurs stars including Robbie Keane and Jan Vertonghen who both registered likes on the images.

Mourinho's squad however are still in negotiations with the club over taking wage deferrals rather than pay cuts amid the coronavirus outbreak.

With a deal yet to be agreed, April’s payroll will go through as normal on Wednesday but Spurs are still trying to strike a wage cut agreement.

Thus far, only Arsenal have agreed pay cuts, which has caused some consternation among the Premier League playing community, who generally agree footballers should only agree deferrals.

West Ham, Southampton, Sheffield United, Watford and Aston Villa have all agreed deferrals.
