Naby Keita has been pictured taking part in a squad training session just one day after Liverpool beat West Ham 1-0 in their Premier League clash at Anfield.
Keita - who is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season - is in the process of returning to play following a hamstring injury.
Keita has missed 72 games for the Reds over his four full seasons at the club having struggled regularly with ankle, groin and hamstring issues.
However, Liverpool have been handed a boost as Keita - who has less than a year remaining on his current deal - was spotted back on the pitch with his team-mates.
He was seen running at pace with the ball and dodging in and out of cones at the AXA Training Centre in Kirby on Thursday afternoon.
Training with his team-mate is a positive step forward for Keita - who has been seeking assurances from Jurgen Klopp about playing time before committing to a new contract.
Talks have been ongoing between Keita and Liverpool regarding a new deal. However, other clubs have expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.
Since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2018 Keita has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup with Liverpool.
During that time he has made 117 appearances, but he isn't guaranteed a starting berth when everybody is available.
Liverpool have midfield options including Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Curtis Jones, James Milner, Arthur Melo and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as youngsters Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho.
There have also been calls for Liverpool to make another signing, which would make it even more difficult for Keita to get regular minutes.
