Napoli interested in Jesus but must sell Lang first to fund move

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are interested in Jesus but need to sell Lang first to raise funds.

Napoli have seriously considered signing Gabriel-Jesus and even hoped to significantly strengthen Allegri's attack with him. Napoli and Arsenal have maintained full communication and conducted a thorough assessment, but the key question has always been whether the Brazilian player is willing to fully open up to a transfer.

Gabriel-Jesus has one year remaining on his contract with the reigning English champions. He showed excellent form on several occasions during pre-season, but that abruptly changed once the official matches began. Gabriel-Jesus is attracting attention from more than just Napoli, as he turns 29 this year and combines creativity and skill with the ability to link up play while being capable of playing in multiple attacking positions.

Joining Napoli could help him overcome his recent frustrations and disappointments, while also strengthening the Brazilian contingent in the team, which includes Alisson, Neres, and Giovane, as well as the group of São Paulo players in the squad. The financial terms are now clear: Gabriel-Jesus's transfer fee could be less than 20 million euros, with an annual salary of around 6 million euros. Of course, all terms remain negotiable.

Lang is key to the signing of Gabriel-Jesus.

Everything is negotiable except for one point: Gabriel Jesus represents aspiration and ambition, but if Napoli cannot first sell an attacking player, it will be impossible to make real progress on this deal.

Lukaku is very eager to make amends for his poor performances last season under Allegri by playing alongside Hojlund, and has therefore rejected offers from Trabzonspor, keeping the door open only for potential opportunities within Italy, including Lazio and Fiorentina.

As a result, Lang is increasingly becoming a key factor in the transfer operation. He joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven last summer for a total of approximately 30 million euros in fixed transfer fees, plus bonuses. Now, he could become a crucial asset for Napoli as they seek to raise funds for further investment.

During the critical stage of negotiations between PSG and Napoli over the sale of Götze, Lang had attracted interest from his former club Ajax. However, after the deal was completed, Ajax temporarily stepped aside to wait and evaluate other options, perhaps more cost-effective alternatives. Lang's value is approximately 25 million euros, and, most importantly, if Napoli sells him, they will only accept a permanent transfer. They will not consider a loan, or at most, a loan with a mandatory buy-out clause.

However, Galatasaray and Atalanta have so far only proposed loan deals, so no agreement has been reached. Meanwhile, Napoli is awaiting Chelsea’s official announcement of Badiashile’s arrival. Napoli and Chelsea are also negotiating over Spanish forward Marc Guiu, a 20-year-old graduate of Barça’s youth academy who has now lost his place at the London club. There are two potential departures: Napoli is negotiating with Verona over Cheddira’s permanent transfer; at the same time, it is negotiating with Lorient over Obaretin’s loan, with an optional buyout clause in the contract.
