New footage shows Man Utd RW Antony raging at being told to play LB by Ten Hag

Footage has emerged showing Antony's irritation at being asked to play left-back during extra time in Manchester United's epic FA Cup win over Liverpool.

After scoring the dramatic late equaliser to force extra time, the Brazilian was switched into the unfamiliar position after Harvey Elliott had restored Liverpool's lead at 3-2.

United boss Erik ten Hag went all-out attack in a desperate bid to salvage the game - and his team's chances of winning silverware this season - by introducing midfielder Mason Mount for defender Victor Lindelof.

That meant a tactical reshuffle which saw Antony drop to left-back and Bruno Fernandes slot in alongside Harry Maguire at centre-half, with Mount, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen in midfield and a front three of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo.

A video filmed from the stands shows Antony breaking away from Ten Hag's team talk at half-time in extra time and giving a 'mind blown' gesture before staring at his manager in disbelief.

He then sulks as he walks away and has to be told by Rashford and then Eriksen to get on with it. Even goalkeeper Andre Onana comes over to organise everyone before Antony complains to Rashford a second time.

The Brazilian then issues one more gesture of frustration to the bench and huffs before Liverpool get the second period of extra time underway.

Remarkably, Ten Hag's novel tactics had the desired effect as goals by Rashford and Amad earned United a dramatic 4-3 win over their bitter rivals to reach the semi-finals.

The positive end to the game clearly altered Antony's thoughts as he said afterwards: 'Sacrifice, sacrifice, when the coach said that, we find it a bit strange, but sacrificing for the group, sacrificing for the team, that's fine with me.'

The £85million winger has endured a difficult campaign and had scored just one goal all season prior to Sunday - that coming against League Two Newport County earlier in the FA Cup run.

But when replaced Rasmus Hojlund after 71 minutes at Old Trafford, Antony took steps towards redemption by firing home United's equaliser at 2-2 to force extra time.

But United once again looked dead and buried midway through extra time after Elliott's deflected shot restored Liverpool's lead.

Refusing to give in, Ten Hag's side levelled through Rashford's calm bottom corner finish in the 112th-minute after Scott McTominay teed him up.

Young winger Amad then won the tie with penalties looming, finishing off a breakaway attack after Garnacho played him in.

Amad was then sent off for a second bookable offence after removing his shirt to celebrate.

United held on to set up a Wembley semi-final against Championship side Coventry City next month and dash Liverpool's dreams of winning a Quadruple in Jurgen Klopp's farewell season.
