Neymar and Kylian Mbappe may current be away from PSG while on international duty with Brazil and France respectively - but their relationship has got social media talking.

The 30-year-old former Barcelona forward was asked about his personal connection to the 23-year-old striker after Brazil beat Ghana 3-0 on Friday evening.

When asked about his relationship with Mbappe and asking for a repeat of the question, Neymar reaffirms: "With Kylian?" Before saying: "Phew. I don't..."

Having then walked away from the press area, social media users began talking about the relationship between the two forwards who have played alongside each other on 121 occasions.

With the pair berating each other for not passing at key moments during fixtures in the past, much has been said about Mbappe's new PSG contract, which is said to give him power in club decision-making.

A feud could also stem from Mbappe's eye for goal this season, with Neymar scoring nine goals and laying on eight assists - with Mbappe scoring 10 while creating none.

In addition, the pair clashed over the taking of a penalty against Montpellier last month which was scored by the former Santos forward.

Despite that altercation, Christophe Galtier's side have had a fine start to the new season and sit top of Ligue 1 after seven wins from eight fixtures.

Mbappe was recently asked a similar question about his relationship with Neymar, having signed a new contract that is set to keep him at the club until 2025.

"To talk about Neymar, this is the sixth year, I think we've always had a relationship like this based on respect," Mbappe said in a press conference last month.

"But we've always had moments like this where sometimes we've had moments that were a bit colder and moments that were a bit hotter.

"There are times, you'll see, when we're the best of friends and sometimes we don't talk so much, it's the nature of our relationship that's like that."
