Neymar has risked angering Kylian Mbappe with a post congratulating Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Lionel Messi on winning the World Cup.

Messi and Mbappe went head-to-head on the biggest stage on Sunday, with Argentina ultimately prevailing on penalties in the World Cup final.

Both players played a huge part in the game, with Messi scoring twice while Mbappe hit a hat-trick. They also both successfully converted their penalties in the shootout.

However, it was Messi who was celebrating at the end of the game, and Neymar tweeted: 'Congratulations Brother' along with a picture of Messi with the World Cup trophy.

Neymar didn't post any message of consolation to Mbappe, which may have angered the 23-year-old even further.

Neymar had been aiming to be involved in the final himself but Brazil crashed out on penalties against Croatia in the quarter-finals.

Messi, Neymar and Mbappe form a feared trio for PSG, but there hasn't always been a harmonious relationship between them.

This season there have been numerous suggestions of a rift between Mbappe and Neymar.

The pair clashed during PSG's win against Montpellier in August, with Neymar stopping Mbappe from taking another penalty after the forward had missed an earlier spot-kick.

There were also claims that Mbappe was frustrated with Neymar's attitude and it was suggested that Mbappe wanted the Brazilian to leave the club.
