Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is set to sign a new long-term deal at the City Ground, as the newly-promoted outfit prepares for their first Premier League campaign since 1998-199.

The 21-year-old bagged 19 goals and nine assists in all competitions during Forest's Championship playoff-winning campaign last season.

With only one year left on his current deal, Johnson was reportedly riveting the gaze of several top flight suitors ahead of the summer transfer window, including Premier League survivors Leeds, Brentford and Everton.

The Reds are now set to pen a fresh long-term deal with the youngster, having already batted away four bids from Brentford in January.

Meanwhile, Forest have also asked about Manchester City defender Issa Kabore, who spent the previous campaign on loan at French side Troyes.

The 21-year-old right-back notched 31 appearances as Troyes evaded the Ligue 1 drop zone last campaign and has since returned to the Etihad to team up with his parent club.

Despite joining Pep Guardiola's ranks for £4million in 2020, Kabore has yet to play a single minute in a City shirt.

Forest's ambitious pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper and England international Dean Henderson is nearing the finish line, with the 25-year-old set to complete his medical before the end of this week.

Henderson, who is on the verge of signing a season-long loan, is desperate for first-team football as he bids to win back his spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad.
