OFFICIAL: Dani Carvajal is injured to the soleus muscle of his left leg

Injury report: Carvajal suffers calf injury

Real Madrid have published a medical report on defender Dani Carvajal, who left Saturday’s match against Granada with a calf injury.

After the tests carried out on our player Dani Carvajal by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg has been diagnosed. Pending further development.

Carvajal will be out around two weeks with this injury if everything goes according to plan, club sources told Managing Madrid. The Spanish defender has avoided a major injury but the club will take a cautious approach knowing that muscle injuries are always tricky if not given enough time to heal properly.

In the meantime, Lucas Vazquez will be the de facto right-back with Nacho Fernandez stepping up as his replacement whenever needed.

Carvajal has been excellent so far this season, so Real Madrid will be hoping to see him regaining confidence and momentum as soon as he recovers from his injury.
