Luuk de Jong has joined FC Porto on a free transfer after his contract with PSV Eindhoven expired, both clubs announced Sunday.
The 34-year-old striker won the Eredivisie title with PSV last season but had been weighing his options for weeks. After his deal ran out on July 1, the Eindhoven club was unable to secure an extension.
Although Sevilla and Fiorentina expressed interest, De Jong opted for Porto, now coached by Francesco Farioli, who guided Ajax to a runner-up finish behind PSV in the Eredivisie last season.
De Jong spent eight seasons at PSV over two spells, winning five Eredivisie titles (2015, 2016, 2018, 2024 and 2025) and scoring 186 goals in 338 official matches. His previous clubs include Borussia Monchengladbach, Newcastle United, Sevilla and FC Barcelona.
