Only 55%... Kepa has the worst save percentage of any goalkeeper in EPL

He might be the most expensive goalkeeper of all time, but Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga has the worst save percentage in the Premier League this season.

The Chelsea number-one has made 84 appearances for the club since joining in the summer of 2018 for a fee in the region of £71m.

However, the Spaniard has been heavily criticised during his time at Stamford Bridge, with some questioning whether Chelsea need to look to improve on their goalkeeping options.

Statistics have now revealed that in fact he has the worst save percentage of any keeper in the league this season, with just 55% of shots saved.

This compares to Allison who tops the list with 83%, followed by Dean Henderson on 75% and then Vincente Guaita and Kasper Schmeichel on 73%.

None of West Ham’s four goalkeepers to have played in the Premier League this season feature on the list, because they haven’t made more than the average number of appearances.

On Saturday, Isaac Hayden's flying header in the dying seconds at St James' Park was enough to hand Newcastle United a 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

Kepa got a hand to the ball but couldn't do enough to keep the ball out of his own net.

Chelsea fans felt as though he could have done more to prevent the goal which resulted in their eighth defeat of the season.
