The president of Racing Victor Blanco explains to MD that Atletico could sign Lautaro Martinez for only €9m in 2017 but he did not want to go.
"He wanted to succeed at Racing before moving to a big club.
"Atletico Madrid had almost signed the striker with only nine million euros in 2017, which is the amount of his release clause, but the deal fell through in the end.
"Martinez is a player with exemplary conduct who adapts to things very quickly." Victor Blanco said in an interview with MD.
